A solar thermal collector is a device used to collect, absorb and transfer solar energy into thermal heat. The solar thermal heat can be used in applications such as solar air conditioning system and domestic hot water production.
SOLID has been manufacturing solar collectors for many years. The recent shift towards the use of solar thermal for air conditioning ushered the development of new SOLID solar collector.
The recently developed "Gluatmugl" solar collector with sunstrip absorber combines the standard features to bring the efficiency of the solar collector to a higher level. With a gross area of at least 10.5m², the new "Gluatmugl" collector is especially suitable for commercial large scale solar thermal installations.
The "Gluatmugl" collectors have already been used in several large scale thermal installations with over 10,000m² of collector's area. The "Gluatmugl" collector is tested accordingly to EN12975:2006 by arsenal research, Vienna, which is now known as Austrian Institute of Technology.
The SOLID Telemonitoring and Solar Control System are the state-of-the-art solar control systems. These systems ensure that performance parameters of the solar system are continuously monitored to provide optimum efficiency. These systems are used in all of the SOLID major solar installations
